The Apostle James C. Turknett began his pastoral career at the New Life Church of Oak Cliff in Dallas, Texas. The Faith and Power Ministry Interdenominational Church (FAPMIC) was founded in Dallas, Texas, on December 1, 1993. FAPMIC takes its name from the teachings of the late Rev. A. A. Allen, who was known for publicizing his messages on videotape. Brother James C. Turknett’s willingness to study faithfully and watch Reverend Allen’s videos every night later gave him the opportunity for God to commission him to fulfill His Divine Will and to be called Gods Man of Faith and Power.
As a result of his strong messages against demonic strongholds, he became a sought-after motivational speaker and eventually worked at the local Christian radio station. James C. Turknett grew a devoted following of television and radio listeners that led him to pastor his first congregation, Love Five C Church, a Christian charismatic church. As his radio and television audiences grew, so did his anointing, forcing him to travel full-time. FAPMIC touched the lives of thousands of young people, particularly in urban cities where teenagers were dropping out of school and congregating in drug-infested neighborhoods. Several notable tent revivalist were inspired to follow Christ by Apostle Turknett.
Apostle Turknett has worked with speakers and guests from the community, Constable Burl Jernigan, Bishop Dwight Pate, Karen Taylor, Steve Solomon, Dr. Bernard Johnson, Hip Hop Artist Suga T., Rickey Rush, Music Producer Carnell Murrell, Dallas Police Chief Ben Click, Pastor Howard Richardson, and a host of other renowned individuals. Apostle James C. Turknett has also worked with U.S. Congresswoman Eddie Bernice, Gospel icon Kirk Franklin, and the Great T.D. Jakes. Scholarships for college, vocational, and trade school are provided by Faith and Power Ministries.
